Carolina Herrera introduced 212 VIP Black in 2025, and it split opinion instantly, which is usually a sign a fragrance has done something interesting.

It opens on a boozy, aromatic sharpness, anise and a bitter green edge that feels immediately unusual. There is no polite citrus lead in. Lavender and fresh spice build through the middle over a dry, earthy woodiness, and the whole thing stays dark and unapologetic through to the drydown.
